How Can You Boost your Child's Immune System? Don’t Miss Our Raising Healthy Kids Naturally Workshop

ree

As excited as you and your kiddos are about another fun-filled and educational school year, there’s no denying that back-to-school season is notorious for creating an uptick in runny noses, coughs, congestion, and a litany of icky kid germs passed around faster than a backpack fills up with mystery crumbs. It’s a never-ending cycle of trying to keep your kid healthy without having to constantly turn to medications and more potent antibiotics that often do more long-term harm than good.

While you can’t (and shouldn’t) try to eliminate all exposure—because that’s how their immune system learns—there are several natural ways to support a child’s defenses and help them recover more quickly.

That’s what our Raising Healthy Kids Naturally Workshop on September 16 is all about.

We know it’s a bit short notice, but we hope you'll join us!

What: Raising Healthy Kids Naturally Workshop, hosted by Dr. David Ravdin and Crina Henson MSN, FNP-C from Alpha Women's Wellness

When: Tuesday, September 16 at 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 6:15)

Where: Compassion Family Chiropractic (401 N. Valley Pkwy, Suite 370, Lewisville, TX 75067)

Bonus: Free dinner and drinks provided!

Battling Colds, Coughs, and Sniffles Early in the School Year

Going back to school can be tough for many families when it comes to colds, coughs, and contagious sniffles that never seem to go away. From missed school days to sleepless nights and spending hours on end in a drugstore aisle, your entire family is EXHAUSTED!

To help you finally get answers to why your child can’t ever kick the sick, we’ve pulled together our best of the best care team to give you step-by-step help that you can use to start making a difference for your family. Together, we will help you learn how to minimize the tough days and maximize the good days for your family. And … spoiler alert … a significant portion of that message focuses on the wonderful world of neurologically based chiropractic care and how it can deliver better results than the traditional medical approach.

Yes, the key to supporting the body is to build up its defenses naturally:

Who Is This Workshop For?

  • Parents with children who are struggling with being sick so often that it is impacting the entire family.

  • Parents who are worried about their family’s immune system and are always feeling less than their best.

  • Parents who want practical ways to help keep their family healthy as the school year rolls on!

If you have some extra time and can make plans to spend it in a safe space with other parents, we sincerely hope you will. This workshop is your gateway to gaining the HOPE, HELP, and ANSWERS you need to help your child build resilience for years to come.

In the meantime, we’ve put together a short list of natural ways to help boost your child’s immune system:

6 Tips To Help You Support Your Child’s Health Naturally

  1. Prioritize quality sleep — If you haven’t already, establish a consistent bedtime routine so that your child gets the right amount of sleep to improve their immune responses. Depending on their age, children should get between 8 and 13 hours of sleep each night.

  2. Focus on better nutrition — Dr. David loves chicken tenders and ice cream, too, but whole foods like fruits, veggies, whole grains, lean proteins, beans, Vitamin C, and probiotic-rich foods should dominate your child’s food intake.

  3. Get them up and moving — An active child is typically a healthier child, simply because moderate physical activity alone helps improve circulation and enables white blood cells to move through the body efficiently. Beyond that, you can also factor in tremendous benefits from fresh air and sunlight.

  4. Hydration, hydration, hydration — Encourage water over anything else … and lots of it, too. Sugary drinks taste great but also lead to dehydration. If your child is constantly dehydrated, they are more susceptible to getting sick.

  5. Focus on good hygiene — Teach kids to wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds—especially before eating and after coughing, sneezing, or using the restroom.

  6. Get your kids adjusted — The foundational system to the immune system is the nervous system!  A healthy and balanced nervous system is key to a thriving immune system!
