We believe it is important to know, like, and trust the healthcare professionals responsible for your care and taking care of your family. That includes their educational background, work experience, and what led them to your neck of the woods. More importantly, it’s an opportunity to understand why they have a passion for chiropractic care and gain insight into their lives outside the office. With that in mind, Dr. David Ravdin and the rest of our team at Compassion Family Chiropractic are elated to introduce our newest chiropractor, Dr. Alex Awwad!
That’s right! Our Compassion Team is growing! Dr. Alex and Dr. David have known each other for six years, having both graduated from Life University. These two go way back - six years of friendship, countless clinical conversations, and a shared passion for helping families through chiropractic care. They’ve encouraged each other every step of the way, and now getting to serve side by side is truly an answer to prayer.
Getting to Know Dr. Alex: Let’s Start With the Professional Stuff
As previously mentioned, Dr. Alex graduated from the prestigious Life University in 2020. Dr. Alex grew up in Roseville, Michigan, and, after studying at Oakland University, moved to Atlanta to pursue a career in chiropractic. While in school, he saw firsthand the benefits of chiropractic care and how it can significantly change a person's life and well-being. Needless to say, he dedicated himself to the simple intention of helping those who are sick and hurting. He is trained in several advanced chiropractic techniques, including Gonstead and the Torque Release Technique, and his goal is to collaborate with Dr. David and continue providing transformative care—from simple spinal adjustments to addressing the most unique and complex of cases.

Outside of providing the most thorough and effective chiropractic care, Dr. Alex is a proud husband and father. He and his wife, Nicole, welcomed their first son, Luke, in 2024. They are expecting their second child—another boy—very soon.
Fun Facts About Dr. Alex You Might Not Know
Dr. Alex isn’t the only chiropractor in his house. He and Nicole met during Dr. Alex’s final year at Life University and were married almost five years ago. Needless to say, he considers Nicole his “personal chiropractor,” and, to no one’s surprise, sweet baby Luke was professionally adjusted within an hour of being born.
Growing up, Dr. Alex was a star wide receiver and defensive back from the time he was 7 years old through high school. Although he no longer plays, he remains a diehard football fan. His favorite team is the Detroit Lions. He is also a Michigan Wolverines fan.
Here’s a fun fact: Dr. Alex is a first-generation American in his family. His parents are Palestinian immigrants.
In terms of favorite food, Dr. Alex is a big fan of Italian cuisine, which is a good thing since his wife is also Italian. He swears he could eat spaghetti and pizza all day if he could. Is there anything he won’t eat? Yes … tuna (very random, we know).
Dr. Alex admits he is deathly afraid of reptiles, snakes specifically. Interestingly enough, Nicole is constantly talking about getting their boys a pet lizard or bearded dragon. The jury is still out on whether Dr. Alex can handle living under the same roof.
In his spare time, Dr. Alex loves going to coffee shops and parks with his family. He also enjoys hitting the golf course whenever he can.
Dr. Alex became a believer in chiropractic school, actually giving his life to the Lord at a retreat Dr. David hosted with a campus ministry. Months later, his wife Nicole was saved and baptized at the same retreat. He and Nicole have made it a point over the years to engage in ministry work with the global movement called Youth With a Mission (YWAM). They’ve traveled to California, Hawaii, New York, and San Francisco.
Dr. Alex is a big-time perfectionist, which he attributes largely to his becoming a chiropractor.
Here’s an embarrassing fact: Dr. Alex can’t snorkel. He’s tried numerous times, including on their honeymoon in Hawaii, and he ends up failing miserably every time. He also admits that he is not a very good soccer player.
Dr. Alex loves action movies and romantic comedies. One of his favorite actors is Adam Sandler.
Much like Dr. David, Dr. Alex’s primary passion is to know Jesus and to make him known. His highest desire is to care for people so that they might see Jesus’ love and compassion for them.
